Biography
ANN HUTTER-FRANK
Ann Hutter was born Anna-Marie Tuscher on October 1, in Nokomis Saskatchewan, Canada. Her parents both grew up in small farming towns in Central Saskatchewan, but by age nine the family moved to Calgary, Alberta where her father soon started work in the oil industry that was booming in the early 70's.
Ann's love of music started early. She practically bugged her dad for two years to teach her how to play the family guitar. By age five she was playing chords her dad taught her and was learning songs off her parent's records using her ear to find the chords. Ann and her sister Debbie formed a duo and the two girls along with the guitar sang at school functions, Calgary Stampede Breakfasts, and house parties.
A school councilor advised Ann to concentrate on high school and then go into post secondary studies. Ann followed that advice completing her education in business management, and after working for several years in property management Ann sat in the audience of a Robert Pante' show, one of the world's leading image consultants in 1991 and was intrigued by his performance. Ann appreciated the show that evening for its glamour and professionalism. That opportunity led Ann to establish herself as a certified image consultant.
At that time Ann had eight years in the corporate management field and felt she had enough experience to start a business. Determined, she founded "Reflections of You" in 1993, which offered image related services, and marketed the business to the corporate world. Ann revamped the personal image of employees for Royal Bank of Canada, Investors Group, and Sun Life of Canada.
But her life passion was music. She went back into the business, but this time Ann worked behind the scenes with musical artists who focused their talent in the recording industry. Ann directed the business toward the entertainment industry and pressed forward.
In the fall of 1994, Ann was given an opportunity that would forever change her life. Multi-Grammy Award winner David Foster, hosted a C.B.C. television special called, "David Foster & Friends" which helped launch the careers of several new talents. Event producer Chris Earthy gave Ann the task of guiding one young hopeful through the show.
During an industry meeting it was suggested to Ann to get involved in the management side of music; as a result, "Reflections of You" evolved into a music entertainment company in 1997. Renamed "Out West Management Incorporated" the company added personal management services for recording artists. That same year Ann lobbied to the Canadian Country Music Association, to honor a Canadian legend in Country Music with the "Hall of Honor Artist Inductee" award for a lifetime of achievement. Working with Executive Producer Howard Rosen, and Director Michael Watt, Ann acted as creative consultant for the segment on the artists' life, which aired on the Canadian Country Music Awards show in September, 1998.
When the Sheldon Kennedy story broke on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1997, Ann got involved by developing the concept of a theme song to be written specifically for the Sheldon Kennedy Foundation. Ann scheduled meetings between the foundation's executive, Sheldon Kennedy and song writers, and on May 5, 1998 the Sheldon Kennedy Foundation commissioned a song to be written for Sheldon's cause.
Independent artists have hired Ann to help write their business plans to pinpoint clear direction on where to focus their efforts. Attending industry events such as the Canadian Country Music Awards, Country Radio Seminars, and the Juno Awards, provides Ann the opportunity to see her mentors, associates, and other top professionals in the industry, which continues to strengthen her position as a key figure in the industry.
Entering her fourteenth year in the entertainment field, Ann has traveled extensively throughout North America working with artists. Her unique ability to make an artist feel comfortable during the creative stages of their career makes Ann an asset on a project. She is proud to be a part of this industry, and continues to work with recording artists to assist them with their performance image; thereby, putting a fresh new spin on their stage shows. Ann contracts herself to performing and recording artists for the sole purpose of making a positive contribution to the ever evolving global industry called "ENTERTAINMENT".
